Driving a vehicle with compromised vision due to inclement weather and headlight glare is dangerous and frustrating. A Crystal Fusion-treated windshield will help minimize these adverse effects, creating more confidence while navigating poor weather conditions and nighttime driving.
How does it work?
To the eye, the glass may seem perfectly smooth. However, under a microscope, glass has pores and what is commonly referred to as hills, valleys, and peaks. Crystal Fusion is the solution to filling those natural imperfections within glass, creating a near-perfect surface. Our two-part patented chemical application process molecularly bonds to the silica found within the glass.
Step A, or Chemical A, is the bonding agent that reacts and grows a substrate in the pores. Step B, or Chemical B, reacts to Chemical A, creating a covalent bond, ultimately capping the surface and creating an ultra-hydrophobic finish.
How is it Different from over-the-counter products?
Crystal Fusion is unlike any product available in stores or online. It is not a topical coating and does not contain wax-based chemicals that cause yellowing and streaking. These wax-based products often cause a build-up, leading to distorted vision, uneven wiper blade wear, and wiper "chatter" (skipping the wiper blade on the windshield).
These products often require a reapplication of the product several times a month during use.
Crystal Fusion is a one-time application with an available seasonal maintenance program.
What is the maintenance program?
Over time, wiper abrasion is unavoidable on a vehicle, so Crystal Fusion comes with a seasonal maintenance program as part of our product warranty (warranty terms may vary depending on the product warranty selected or offered at the time of purchase). This warranty includes the use of our Crystal Fusion KEEP product. KEEP is a third formulation that rejuvenates the hydrophobic properties of Chemical B/Step B. The frequency of use for KEEP will vary depending on driving habits and seasonal conditions. Typically, in a 4-season environment, we recommend using KEEP every 3-4 months (seasonally). KEEP will be needed less frequently in a 2-3 season environment.
